As a member of the Guild of Fine Arts, Chris is trained in handling art and photographs as well as assessing their value and condition. He can offer assistance in selecting the best option for your piece to really maximise its impact on your wall.
Chris has an excellent reputation for providing the highest standard of service for an affordable price.
Call in to the studio to discuss your requirements.
As a former photography competition judge, Chris knows exactly how best to uplift an image with the right choice of frame and mount.
Photographs can be emailed to us for enhancement prior to printing. We will then print them on archival quality paper and mount and frame them in your choice of mouldings.
We are also experienced in photo framing for exhibitions where it is important that images are balanced in relation to each other and that the framing is complementary.
Art should be conserved as well as displayed. We take your artwork and assess its condition and value and let you have our recommendations for framing.
As well as a choice of bespoke frames, we also offer different types of glass to suit the piece and the location it will hang, for example anti-reflective or UV protective glass.
Canvas and Textile framing
We can stretch canvas paintings and photographs and make box frames to finish them off, and frame embroidery, tapestries and cross stitch as well as other textile pieces. Framing really is the finishing touch to handmade works and clients are always happy to see the transformation that framing makes.
Memorabilia, collection and sports clothing framing
Take that collection out of the drawer and turn it into an eye-catching display. We can frame anything from medals to card collections. Visit the studio to discuss how best to showcase your memorabilia. We can also frame that special item of sports clothing.
Particularly useful for photographs, dry mounting involves bonding a piece to a backing that prevents the image from crinkling or bending over time. The photograph is placed on an adhesive sheet on top of a backing board. A dry mounting press applies heat and even pressure to adhere the picture to the board.
When removed, the picture is completely flat and supported by the backing board so that over time it will not sag in the frame or become wavy.
This process can also be used on other pieces that would benefit from support such as fine art prints or children’s art work.
Personal photographs or mementos make the perfect gift. Take the trouble to make sure the framing is perfect and designed to preserve the piece as well as display it beautifully and you will have a present that will last and last.
Pieces we have framed as gifts include maps of special places, old photographs, wedding photographs, baby mementos including bootees and hospital tags, clay handprints and handmade needlework.
